Shirasgaon village is a remote hilly area situated on the hilltop, located in the Sangamner block of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra. We have implemented a water system to aid them in their water crisis.

Now the newly excavated well has sufficient water and meets the need of the villagers.

Now the school children (90) get access to clean drinking water.

- Under the watershed development programme livelihood activites (Welding shop, Grocery shop, flour mill ) have been promoted.
- Health and hygeine activities : 13 health camps were conducted. Growth monitoring camps and nutritions demonstrations (18) for children have been taken up to improve the malnutrition condition of the children
- agriculture demonstrations and horticulture has been provided.

- The excavation of the well was estimated earlier to 50ft deep but in actual an additional of 18ft has been dug and construction of the same has been done with concretization, which has increased the cost. This additional cost of 2781 UD$ was borne by the village community.

Out of the total 114 families, would contribute Rs. 40 per month (yearly collection USD 889) towards the recurring expenses as well as the maintenance cost per year.

For holistic integrated watershed development program, drinking water and sanitation activities should be considered a pivotal part of the program
