I noticed that you began writing a 3rd phase but did not finish. Did you intend to describe a 3rd phase?

Hello Melinda, but for your comment, I would not have realised that we did not complete the third phase. Please be rest assured that we are very open to your contributions and corrections. It only makes the process simpler for us. However, we have completed the third phase which we missed out

Will you explain more clearly how 6,000 households will be impacted by this pilot project?
By Women Initiative for Sustainable Environemnt Posted on Wed 03 Dec 2008, over 17 years ago
Upon completion of the three phases outlined, it is anticipated that the about 6000 households that make up Attarkar Community would have adopted the BSF in their homes. As part of our activities for the pilot project, the community would be exposed to the technology through our planned community mobilization processes. In this way, they will have an opportunity to witness first hand water testing which will bring to their awareness, the issue of water contamination and its attendant problems. This we believe will enhance the interest of the community members to adopt the BSF for their household uses. Further more the trained women will be supported to start up BSF micro ventures to meet the demands of the targetted 6000 households. Eventually we will provide micro finance and related business suppot assistance to this women.

After you train the women, will they rely on your organization for seed funding? How will you stay in contact with the 20 women? Perhaps you can discuss this in Phase 3

As part of our strategy, we have outlined fund raising for the women towards helping them start up a BSF Micro Business. As also expresses in our proposal, one of the project facilitator/instructor i.e. Anna Avong is the President of the Attarkar Women Association of Nigeria. She is very familiar with the entire women community and will be a formidable channel of staying in touch with the trained women. Through Anna's women group i.e. the Attarkar Women Association of Nigeria contact with this women is ensured.

Hi ladies
great to have you up and running on PWX! A few questions:
1) You said that you will train the women for a viable venture. Can you explain what that would be? If they turn it into a micro-business, will Empronet also offer Biz Development?
2) Will Empronet simply be the training agency? How much interaction, oversight and follow-up will Empronet engage in with the groups? How will you maintain quality control?
3) Can you breakdown the "admin and workshop costs"?
Also, if you have an excel spreadsheet, you can submit your budget in that form and upload it to PWX as an excel doc. If you have any difficulties, Annette can assist you.
Looking forward to reading your responses!

1. In response to your first question, the women will betrained and supoorted to start up a BSF micro-enterprise. EMPRONET and the Attarkar Women Association of Nigeria (AWAN) in collaboration with potential donors will work together towards providing micro finance and other business development assitance to support the start ups of the trained women.
2. EMPRONET will be directly and indirectly involved in every aspect of the Project in collaboration with AWAN which will be fully on ground to conduct monitoring and evaluation of the entire process.
3. We will work on submitting our budget using excel as you suggested.
Thank you so much Gemma. Every question is making us better at what we propose to do. Please, we welcome your suggestions and support.
Best Wishes,
Olanike and Anna

Dear Nike and Anna, I think you did a good job with your proposal . It is quite
detailed and has several components, but I noticed that the amount for the project requested , will it cover the costs of all the activities or are there other avenues for funding.

Thanks Mary,
Though we restricted ourselves to an anticipated seed money of $1000.00, we are working out ways of getting additional funds. You may please note that we specified that the project will be carried out in phases. We are open to suggestions.
Best Wishes,
Olanike
