Timeline of activities?

By Team Blue Posted on Tue 12 Jun 2012, over 12 years ago

Rajesh, thanks for the clarification.

Dear AA,
The project background is extensive, mentioning many integrated activities of water and sanitation.

To get a sense of how implementation will unfold, what would be your priorities, aims, and timeline for the first 6 months?

Best,
Dipti

As of now we are baby, we have wast experience on community development as a organization we need to build human resource and funding for the thematic areas we have planned,
Our any work will ultimately aim to attain child centric programmes to make better tomorrow for them.
The conditions of the villages have already mentioned.
Apart from that I am part of state child rights campaign and our work is to coordinate, strengthen, and advocate the issue as a group, so it the group like this and networks, and individual who are going to take off the programme.
Next six month, specially water and sanitation is to provide water filters for Anganwadis, individual families in two villages.
To build community based water harvesting in two villages.
EM microorganism developing on experimental project in one village.
Ecofriendly toilets in these two villages (especially for Anganwadis) and based on request for the community.
All the above the planning where, when , will take place with the community and GP members in workshop at 2 level which involves community contribution ,labour , place , material to one extent.
Soon after the workshop will mail the timeline. Till 3 years our organization will be acting as resource center, after that we will have one resource centre at Grampancahyat level.
Mean time if I have a team in field who wants to take this programme forward will guide them to cover taluk level!

Dear kusum
We wil be playing facilitator role , the system already exist and we have to communicate , organise resources and capapcity building work session which there are technical people and groups,
As of now I am not thingking to expand with more people, again it will be isolated from community and system . we are going to identify community level people in the village and strengren them so that the resource remains in the village.

And I a have a network of volunteers team(students , professionals,) who will support for this work.

Welcome to PWX!

As a new organization, this review will go more towards discussing the plans and implementation ideas, rather than history.

Just to let all reviewers know, we are working closely with Varalakshmi and will help define, fund, implement, and monitor her water and sanitation projects. She is close to the field and will actually oversee implementation. Project area is close to Bangalore so will make a good case study of many of PWX tools and plans.

Regards,
Rajesh

Linkages with the Government

By GRAVIS Posted on Sun 01 Jul 2012, over 12 years ago

Dear friends at Aa Foundation,

Your vision is clear and impressive. As a new organization, we wish you all the best in achieving your targets. It seems that the links with the local government will be crucial for you in order to reach anganwadis and schools. What steps have you taken or intend to take to strengthen these links.

Thanks,

Prakash Tyagi

Linkages with the Government

By Aa Foundation for Community Development Posted on Sun 01 Jul 2012, over 12 years ago

Dear prakash, yes working with government is a challenge, but the government is biggest implementer ,reaches in large scale , so creating model , trying out methods , trying new strategies along with the government becomes important and let us not forget they are our one of the stake holders.
My experience says ,if you do things isolated not involving community or donor ,or local governance , then it is not a replicable module, your remain isolated successful.in a small way. Also to draw the resources from al the side , increase participation , networking and advocating the issues we need to be with the concerned department , people. One to educate them, (awareness), to learn, and towards sustainability.

My experience with childlabour issue and child protection on this strategeis have gained momentum in law building more safer network, notifications , system by the government and I do think/work using this strategy.

Anganwadi's are right now in a very poor condition all over the country, many studies , survey says the serious intervention is needed , As I am also part of child rights group in state , we are having series of discussion and debate , experimenting to improve the condition of the exsisting anganwadi's in the state , and many other NGO's do .

Without government , any donor can adopt one or two , or many anganwadi's for improving but still their role is limited (also question of safety norms they follow) and what is the state responsibility?(interms of allocation of budget/law/implementation).

So As a small organization , I have taken 3 wards in Bangalore(16 anganwadi's-only for technical advice) and 10 in Malur villages, We are trying to bring awareness among community , parents that they are first stake holder and they have greater role in seeing functioning of anganwadi in their village , same thing with school , strengthening School monitoring committee , grampanchayat on importance of education , forming child right committees at school and at GP level. Participating in state level campaigns, conducting 100% enrollment campaigning, identifying dropout and enrolling, child rights information for teachers/GP/Community.
