Providing drinking water to Morewadi, the hamlet of the main village Kerul. We have implemented a water system allowing the village access to a safe water supply and help build capacity of villagers to sustain their own watershed development.
Narrative
Since the village is situated at a higher elevation there was no permanent source of water in the village. Therefore the old community well which is located at 600 mtrs dist of the village was identified as a village source. Repairs were done to the well. A 5HP electric pump has been installed to lift the water and to store in newly constructed storage tank of 20,000 ltrs capacity and another storage tank of 2000 ltrs capacity. A pipeline of 860 mtr has been connected to drinking water tank and a pipeline of 460 mtrs has been laid down for the distribution of water. The individual tap connections have been provided to all the households.
Earlier the drinking water was provided through the tankers during the summer and now due to the implementation of the project, all the household have the access of drinking water at their doorstep and the drudgery of the women has also reduced.
