WOTR with financial support of Arghyam and active involvement of the village community and through access to Govt. Funds, create conditions for change or enabling environments to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of integrated drinking water
Narrative
The watershed development activities have been initiated in this village. All the households are involved in the watershed development programme including the landless families. The land owned household would receive direct benefits of the watershed programme such as increase in groundwater table, change in cropping pattern, increased in fodder and milk production and an increase in the income with achieving food security. The livelihood activities would be promoted for the benefit of landless and very poor category people.
It is proposed that along with the drinking water project, the community led total sanitation programme would be initiated through which the entire village community would be inspired and empowered to stop open defecation and to build and use the toilets. It is proposed that each household would have the access to the individual toilet facilities in the village.
