Sustainability

Creating and measuring long-term impact

Each family is responsible for the latrine’s operational and financial maintenance. Each household offers resources for maintenance and upkeep of the latrines and the materials used to repair them. Dry material is added to vault facilitate composting. Ash is used as dry material. Yearly, the vault needs to be emptied and resealed.
