Projector Program at the nearby school - Goalbari Primary School
As part of the newly launched 'Friday Projector Program' on 21st September seven field workers of Aqua Welfare Society organized an Awareness Program at this school where the teachers and young students were present along with community people, mainly woman of the household, who use the well water for cooking and drinking. In total 16 families are using this well. The school headmaster requested this A/V program for the students and teachers to get educated on water borne diseases. The school authorities were very hospitable and provided with some refreshments to the field workers who traveled for three hours only to get to this site. The transport cost was Rs. 1000/- (USD10). The headmaster wants the same program again after six months.

It is estimated that 40 people will obtain water from source. Registers will be created as soon as the community starts using the water from this bore-dugwell.

Implementer: Project Well & Aqua Welfare Society
Aqua Welfare Society, AWS, is the partner NGO of Project Well. Their office is based in the North 24 Parganas. The 7 honorary board members are located in Kolkata. There were only 5 field workers who were interacting with the villagers and beneficiaries, training the users on maintenance of the dugwells, organizing village meetings and health meetings. This year four more field workers including a management trainee have been contracted due to expansion of the program to other districts like Nadia and Murshidabad. A technical advisor of AWS is based in Kolkata who visits the village occasionally and one awareness programmer who is Aqua Welfare Society, AWS, is the partner NGO of Project Well. in charge of awareness programs in the communities and educational institutions. There is an accountant and also a data entry person on part time basis.
