1. The sites of Majdia, Krishnaganj block of Nadia district have been cancelled since exposure to arsenic is low that we have come to know from the arsenic report collected from the panchayet. We are waiting for the arsenic reports from the lab in Kolkata of 2 sources that were collected by AWS.
2. Now once again the team is meeting with the block officers of Chakdah of Nadia, and Swarupnagar, Baduria and Habra II of N 24 Parganas for pipeline map to select villages where pipelines will not be given. In Swarupnagar and Baduria there are requests from villagers for more bore-dugwells mainly because the quality of water of one recently constructed bore-dugwell, PW218, is excellent.

Field Visit: Not used. community is not informed well about the bi-tech well. After repair in February projector program will be held.

Not used. community is not informed well about the bi-tech well. After repair in February projector program will be held. Due to organic smell at the initial stage of construction in 2012 and not pumping the water the community and the visitors of the mosque never felt encouraged to use the well. We spoke to two female members of the community and explained by showing pictures of PW236 that is closeby that it is essential to pump the water at the initial stage to get clear water. Since nobody pumped the stagnant water produced strong organic smell after few days that discouraged the people. In February this well will be cleaned followed by village meeting on maintenance and also projector program has been scheduled.
